A Beautiful Prayer

I asked the Universe to take away my pain. It said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked the Universe to make all the handicapped children whole. It said, No. Their spirits are whole, remember,the body is only temporary.

I asked the Universe to grant me patience. It also said, No. Patience is a by product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked the Universe to give me happiness. again it said, No. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.

I asked in the name of all the Gods & Goddesses to spare me pain. They said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to the Universe.

I asked for help to make my spirit grow. I was told, You must grow on your own, but you shall be pruned to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. Then I realized I was given  life so that I may enjoy all things.

I asked for help so that I may LOVE others, as much as the Universe loves me.  And then all the Gods & Goddesses spoke in unison..."Ahhhh, finally you have the idea" they said!


THIS DAY IS YOURS DON'T THROW IT AWAY, "To the world you might be one person, But to one person you just might be the world.
